The free parking available is a nice touch, especially with limited spots. The location offers a quaint vibe, revealing local life beyond the usual tourist trail.
The shared bathrooms feel a bit crowded for privacy, and the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. sticky floors and unkempt facilities are a turn-off. Foot traffic from the pub below can be noisy, making it hard to catch some Zs, not to mention the smell of smoke that drifts in from the shared bathroom. The fridge in the room sounds like it's ready for takeoff, hardly ideal for a good night's rest. Breakfast options feel lackluster, with cheap, overcooked items and subpar cleanliness in the dining area. If you're considering this as a cozy getaway, it might be worth reevaluating the budget and look elsewhere.

Shared bathrooms could definitely use better maintenance!!! The towels felt more like abrasive rags, not comfortable at all for drying off.

For budget London accommodation, the Forest Gate Hotel impressed me. The quiet location offered a peaceful stay. I appreciated being within easy walking distance to the tube, just a short stroll away, making it easy to explore. The price was affordable for London, a huge plus. The sheets were clean, and the bed was comfy enough for a good night's sleep, which is what I really needed after long days of sightseeing. Having a fridge and microwave in the room was a neat touch. I could prepare some quick snacks and hot drinks with the tea and coffee facilities. The shared toilets and showers, while not in the room, were clean and decent-sized, equipped with good locks for privacy. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made a difference to my stay, and I enjoyed the simple breakfast that was cooked fresh every morning. The building itself is older and could use a fresh coat of paint. it's not high spec, but that didn’t detract much from the stay. If you're looking for luxury, you need to pay more, but for a couple of nights, this is a solid option. I'd definitely recommend it here to budget travelers like myself who want a comfortable place to rest their heads after a long day in the city.

Decent budget stay with a few quirks
Had a mixed experience here. The room was pretty clean and the staff were chill, but the shared bathrooms could def use some fixes. Plus, the noise from the pub below can be annoying at night. Breakfast was okay, but I wouldn't say it was a must-have. The parking is secure, which is a plus!

The stay turned out to be frustrating as the hotel was closed upon our arrival, leaving us without a place to stay for the night. We even attempted to contact them, but the number provided was out of service. Instead of a comfortable night, we faced the inconvenience of being charged for a no-show despite not being able to check in, which left us feeling completely stranded.

Staying here, I loved being just a short stroll away from the beautiful Mile End Park and the vibrant Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, where I spent hours walking and soaking in the views. disappointing experience but potential exists
The staff tried to help with check-in, displaying a commitment to service despite the circumstances. the shared bathroom, while basic, was kept relatively clean, which was a plus during our stay. The location had some charm, with nearby parks and shops, though exploring the area took effort.
The overall experience was marred by unkempt facilities.
